ZONA RESERVADA MANU 7DIAS / 6NOCHES BUS / BUS

DIA 01: CUSCO- BOSQUE DE NUBES – PILCOPATA.-  Partimos de Cuzco  muy temprano en  la mañana en nuestro cómodo bus. Ascendemos a la zona alta  de Paucartambo. En el trayecto visitamos las torres funerarias ó  Chullpas de Ninamarca. Luego descendemos por el misterioso bosque de nubes, lleno de hermosas orquídeas, heliconias y helechos primitivos. Nos detenemos para brindarle la oportunidad de presenciar al gallito de las rocas (Rupícola peruviana) en el ritual del apareamiento. También hay posibilidades de observar  trogones (Trogón sp.) y mucho más. Si tenemos suerte encontraremos al único oso de Sudamérica, el oso de anteojos (Tremarctos ornatus).  En  la tarde llegaremos a nuestro albergue típico con baños y duchas.

DIA 02: PILCOPATA  LODGE - BOCA MANU- Después de un delicioso desayuno el grupo continua su viaje en bote para navegar en el río Alto Madre de Dios. En el trayecto podemos observar una gran variedad de aves, como garzas, martín pescador y siempre la presencia de los buitres de los cuales el más espectacular es el cóndor de la selva, el rey de los buitres (Scarcoramphus papa) y el Jaguar ( Panthera Onca). Al mediodía una breve parada en la aldea de Boca Manu para descansar y luego continuar con nuestro viaje en el imponente Río Madre de Dios hasta llegar al Lodge de Boca Manu. Noche en Lodge tipico con baños y duchas.

DIA 03: BOCA MANU – LIMONAL – COCHA OTORONGO.-  El viaje en bote continúa y uno empieza a darse cuenta porqué Manu es tan famoso, por su vida salvaje. A orillas del río se observan grupos de tortugas, caimanes blancos (Caimán cocodrylus) o quizás algunos ronsocos (Hydrochaeris  hydrochaeris) y mucho más.  En la tarde arribamos a nuestro campamento localizado en la Cocha Otorongo, poco después nos organizamos en una caminata para visitar el lago y la torre de observación desde donde tenemos la oportunidad de observar a los lobos del río. Aquí en el Manu  los animales nunca han sufrido persecución de caza por parte de los hombres. Noche en campamento SAFARI (en camas). Duchas y baños disponibles.

DIA 04: COCHA OTORONGO – COCHA SALVADOR – COCHA OTORONGO.-El grupo visita hoy Cocha Salvador que se encuentra a 30 minutos de la Cocha Otorongo. Visitamos la cocha para remar silenciosamente en un catamarán que nos da la posibilidad de observar  los lobos del río nuevamente y una gran variedad de aves extrañas como la polla sultana  (Porphyrula martinica) o la garza agami  (Agamia agami)  Más tarde caminamos en las principales trochas con el guía para aprender el funcionamiento y los secretos del bosque tropical.  En la tarde retornamos a nuestro campamento en cocha Otorongo. Noche en campamento en plataformas con techo. Duchas y baños disponibles. Caminata nocturna opcional.

DIA 05: COCHA OTORONGO – BOCA MANU - El día de hoy nos despertamos con el aullido de los cotomonos, desafortunadamente  tenemos  que empezar nuestro retorno a  Boca Manu. Opcional una caminata nocturna alrededor del Lodge. Noche  en  albergue. Duchas y baños  disponibles.

DIA 06: BOCA MANU – PAITITI LODGE.- Continuamos de retorno  en bote hasta  el albergue en el trayecto tenemos nuevamente  la  opción de ver muchas aves  Noche  en  albergue. Duchas y baños  disponibles.

DIA 07: PAITITI LODGE - CUSCO.- Retornamos en  bote hasta atalaya luego nos trasferimos  al bus  hasta Cusco y en el trayecto podremos observar de nuevo variedad de flora y fauna.

1.- Pernoctar en el lugar  indicado en el programa y permiso.

2.-Visitar solo áreas autorizadas

3.- No interferir en las actividades de los guarda parques e investigadores

4.-No establecer contacto con pobladores nativos y respetar sus costumbres.

5.-No colectar especies de flora y fauna.

6.-No portar armas de fuego.

7.-No ingresar implementos de caza y pesca.

8.-Acatar las dispociones la jefatura del Parque y su personal de guarda parque.

9.- Otorgar facilidades  a los guarda parques a las inspecciones que se efectué en la embarcación que

      los transporta.

10.- El Ingreso a Manu zona reservada es a partir del Puesto de vigilancia Limonal, a la zona de 

     Campamentos Otorongo, salvador y casa Matshiguenka 

11.-No molestar, ni alimentar a los animales silvestres.

12.-Colocar la basura en los tachos o al salir del área. Llévala contigo.

13.- No destruyas o escribas o rayes los letreros, tachos, u otra infraestructura.

14.-Comunicar a los guarda parque cualquier hecho anormal que observes durante tu visita.

DIA 01: CUZCO - BOSQUE DE NUBES - PILCOPATA .-  Partimos de Cuzco  muy temprano en  la mañana en nuestro cómodo bus. Ascendemos a la zona alta  de Paucartambo. DIA 02: PILCOPATA - ATALAYA-  BOCA MANU.-Nos levantamos muy  temprano y continuamos nuestro viaje Hasta el Puerto de  Atalaya. Y desde  aquí  continuaremos  nuestro  viaje en bote navegando por  el río Alto Madre de Dios. En el trayecto podemos observar una gran variedad de aves, como garzas, martín pescador y siempre la presencia de los buitres de los cuales el más espectacular es el cóndor de la selva, el rey de los buitres (Scarcoramphus papa ) y el Jaguar ( Pantera Onca) asi mismo tenemos una parada en la comunidad Nativa de Diamante para ver sus tipicas construcciones de casas y ver las frutas silvestre que tienen. En la tarde llegamos a la aldea de Boca Manu donde  tenemos la acomodacion .En la noche tenemos la caminata nocturna  para ver insectos y mas cosas que se puede apreciar .. Albergue con duchas y baños compartidas.

DIA 03: BOCA MANU-COCHA OTORONGO.- El viaje en bote continúa y uno empieza a darse cuenta porqué Manu es tan famoso, por su vida salvaje. Noche en campamento en plataformas con techo. Duchas y baños disponibles. Caminata nocturna opcional.

DIA 06: COCHA OTORONGO – BOCA MANU - El día de hoy nos despertamos con el aullido de los cotomonos, desafortunadamente  tenemos  que empezar nuestro retorno a  Boca Manu igualmente tendremos la opcion de ver muchas otras especies de aves  y mas dependindo de la suerte y lo que la naturaleza nos quiera ofrecer. Opcional una caminata nocturna alrededor del lodge y bañarse  en Boca Manu. Noche  en  albergue. Duchas y baños  compartida.

DIA 07: BOCA MANU – PAITITI LODGE.- Continuamos de retorno  en bote por el río alto Madre de Dios  .En el trayecto tenemos nuevamente  la  opción de ver muchas aves y así mismo con mucha suerte animales .En la tarde estamos llegando a nuestro albergue de Paititi . Noche  en  albergue. Duchas y baños  disponibles.

DIA 08: PAITITI LODGE - CUSCO.- Este día es muy triste  ya que tenemos que dejar nuestra selva maravillosa llena de misterios y  retornar en  bote hasta atalaya luego nos transferimos  en bus  hasta Cusco  en el trayecto podremos observar en bosque de nubes  de nuevo variedad de flora y fauna.

MANU RESERVE ZONE 8 Days and 7 Nights

MANU  RESERVE ZONE  8 Days and 7 Nights

DAY 1: CUSCO – PILCOPATA On the first day of our adventure into the Jungle of Manu. We will pick you up around 6:00 AM from your Hotels in Cusco, using the private transport of Amazon Wildlife Peru. The first part of our excursion will take us through the majestic Andean mountains. We will visit the town of Huancarani which contains the funeral towers of Ninamarca, a cemetery of the Lupacas Pre –Inca Culture, which we will visit briefly on our way to Paucartambo, which is known as the folkloric and Colonial town. At mid-day we will arrive at the entrance of Manu National Park and access to one of the most protected natural areas in South America. We will continue on in our private transport down a dust road and on through the thick fog from which this section of the forest takes it name Cloud Forest. Eventually we will arrive at the home of the exotic Peruvian National Bird, the “Cock of the Rocks”, where it is known to gather with others of its kind for some sort of social gathering that seems reminiscent of a large courtship. You will find that this is quite an amazing spectacle complete with an impressive array of sounds and colours that can only be found in the jungle. For our first night, we will stay at Pilcopata Lodge. L: D

DAY 2: PILCOPATA – BOCA MANU .Very early at 06:30 a.m., we will leave in the direction of Port Atalaya; on the way we will make a few stops to visit the small Locals farmers who are known to be producers of many varieties of jungle fruits even the famous Coca plant. Later, we will begin the boating portion of our journey in a river excursion on the Madre de Dios, one of the tributaries of the mighty Amazon River. During our day we will have the chance to witness many types of colourful birds such as parrots, oropendolas, vultures and others species. We will have stop at the Natural Hot spring. Hopefully, we will make some sightings of some jungle mammals such as monkeys or the famous capybaras (jungle rodents that are as much as 2.5 ft long, Towards the late afternoon, we will arrive to our next sleeping destination BOCA MANU Lodge, the arriving approximately at 3:00 p.m. Here, there will be showers and services available. We will have night walk in the dark, best time to see many anthropoids, tarantulas, scorpions and snakes, of course is optional. B: L: D

DAY 3: BOCA MANU – CASA MATSIGUENKA

Well fed and rested we leave Bonanza Lodge, leaving the relatively clean waters of the Madre de Dios River behind; we enter the clay laden waters of the Manu River. With a brief stop at the park ranger station at Limonal to present our permits we travel for about five hours up the Manu. Beaches, especially in the dry season, are loaded with nesting birds and feeding Herons, Egrets, Orinoco Geese, Terns and Skimmers to name but a few. Some beaches will host sunning White and Black Caimans and breeding Side-necked Turtles. Hundreds of Sand-colored Nightjars roost during the day on logs and beaches and there is a chance of encountering a sunning Jaguar - the world’s third largest cat. In one time, three times of our trips saw Jaguar in Manu. We will see some species of primate on this river trip, possibly Red Howler Monkeys or the smaller Squirrel Monkeys. After having lunched by the river we arrive at Casa Matsiguenka. We'll have the afternoon to explore some of the trails through the pristine rainforest in the area.. Before or after dinner an optional excursion into the forest at night is available with your guide in search of nocturnal creatures. Night at the Casa Matsiguenka, a rustic native owned lodge run by the Matsiguenka’s themselves, with its own exclusive trail system. There are flush toilet and shower facilities and screened twin rooms, with comfortable beds and mosquito nets. B: L: D About the Casa Matsiguenka

The Casa Matsiguenka is designed using the indigenous people’s building techniques and counts on 12 fully screened twin rooms. Beds are furnished with mosquito nets. There is a private trail system and local Matsiguenka guides will accompany you on the trails. There is an interactive interpretation center and locally made souvenirs are for sale

DAY 4: CASA MATSIGUENKA – COCHA SALVADOR

After breakfast we'll spend the morning at the lake of Cocha Salvador. Some of the time will be spent canoeing the lake on a floating platform observing ox-bow lake animal life from the water. We may encounter an Agami Heron or a Sungrebe and Brown Cappuchin Monkeys are usually feeding on fruits nearby. Specially constructed piers that jut out into the lake enable us to look for a family of Giant Otters that live here. These, the world’s largest freshwater carnivores, remain common only in Manu, having been hunted to extinction throughout most of their former range. Each animal consumes between 4 and 5 kilos of fish daily and often they can be seen eating large fish on logs at the lakeside. The rest of the day will be spent walking the trails in the area in search of some of the 13 species of Monkey found in the forest here. Your guide will explain some of the basics of rainforest ecosystems and point out some of the medicinal plants of the area used by local, indigenous groups. We may cross paths with a group of Peccaries - a species of wild boar found here. A late afternoon enjoy the sun sets. Night at the Casa Matsiguenka. B: L: D

DAY 5: CASA MATSIGUENKA – COCHA OTORONGO

Today we'll walk very slowly from camp for 4-5 hours through the forest to Cocha Otorongo. We may encounter troops of Monkeys. This is a particularly good trail for Woolly and Black Spider Monkeys. We'll pay special attention to the plant life on this walk and take it slowly listening for the rustle of vegetation or the soft sound of fruits falling to the rainforest floor that may betray the presence of animals or large birds. A visit to the lake of Cocha Otorongo is planned, where observation piers and a 20 meter observation tower in the rainforest canopy overlooking the lake are available for observing wildlife. We will also be on the lookout for a large family of Giant Otters that inhabit this lake. B: L: D

DAY 6: CASA MATSIGUENKA – AGUAS CALIENTES

Today very early, we will head off to visit which is known as one of the first Biological Stations created for the scientific studies being conducted in Manu. Aguila Arpia which means “Matsiguenka expression”, is an as of yet, still unknown and unvisited palace that will one day be a highly sought after tourist site. We will take you in and around its amazingly complex trail system as the forest exposes more and more of its natural beauty for us behind every bend. Maybe we will even have a chance to see a group of Tamarine Monkeys, which are the smallest monkeys in the entire world. Be aware of surroundings, because they could sneak up right behind you. Later on, afternoon, we will visit another system of trails with a completely different set of characteristics than the first. Our guide will explain to us why and show us native plants from the area that can be used as traditional medicines. We'll be met at the river by our cook with a picnic lunch and then board our motorized dugout for the 5 hour trip down river to AGUAS CALIENTES Manu for the night. The river trip may hold surprises and we'll be attentive for any wildlife on the beaches. Night at the Boca Manu. B: L: D

DAY 7: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHUHUASI- AMAZON LODGE

We will leave early in the morning to see the parrot clay lick to see macaws and parrots gather in a multicolored spectacle after that have a swim in the river without any danger we enjoy and relax and after lunch we go to explore the machuhuasi lake we overnight in the Amazon jungle lodge

DAY 8: MACHUHUASI – CUSCO we will leave from AGUAS Lodge early in the morning to arrive to the Port Atalaya from here; we will take the van directly to Cusco passing through Cloud Forest. In the case that you come back by Plane you will get to the airstrip we board our aircraft for the 35 minute flight over seemingly endless rainforest and then over the Andes, passing glaciers and snow peaks to the ancient Inca capital of Cusco where our staff will be waiting to take you to your hotel. DAY 1 CUSCO – PILCOPATA

We leave from Cusco by private bus, first stopping to visit the pre-Inca burial towers of Ninamarca. We then drive through the mountains to get to the typical and folkloric town of Paucartambo. Here we will take a short walk around the town before carrying on to Acjanaco, the highest point and entrance to Manu National Park. From here we will continue into the Cloud Forest and at San Pedro we will walk for about 1 hour to observe the National bird of Peru, the Cock of the Rock and many different kinds of monkeys, plants and flowers. We arrive at Pilcopata in the evening where we will sleep in a local lodge.

DAY 2 PILCOPATA - PALOTOA CAMPSITE

After breakfast we will continue by private bus to Atalaya. On the way we will stop to observe a coca plantation and we will also stop at a viewpoint where you can look out over the surrounding expanse of jungle and rivers. From Atalaya we will take a motorized boat to Aguas Calientes where we can bathe in the natural hot springs. After lunch we will come back up the river to the platforms at Palotoa campsite. In the afternoon we will walk in the jungle for several hours to learn about and appreciate the many different kinds of animals, birds, plants and flowers. If we are lucky we will see monkeys. In the evening we will return to the campsite for dinner and sleep in tents close to the Alto Madre de Dios River.

DAY 3 PALOTOA CAMP SITE - SOGA DE ORO LODGE

We will leave early to visit the parrot clay lick and after breakfast we will continue by boat, stopping to visit the native community Shintuya on the way. Before lunch we will walk in the jungle for several hours to see different animals and birds such as the Tiger Heron, Eagles, Flycatchers, Kingfishers etc. and many different kinds of plants and flowers. We will then take the boat to Soga de Oro. In the afternoon we will visit Salvacion Lake where we will take a balsa raft and see the pre-historic Hoatzin bird and watch the beautiful sunset. After dark we will look for Caimans. In the evening we will build a bonfire, have a BBQ, relax and have some drinks. We will spend the night at Soga de Oro sleeping on raised platforms in tents (optional).

DAY 4 SOGA DE ORO – CUSCO.

After Breakfast we will return to Atalaya by boat where our private bus will be waiting to take us back to Cusco. We return to Cusco via the cloud forest and Paucartambo. We will arrive back in Cusco in the late afternoon
